Congratulations to all the Mulalley team working on behalf of Newlon Housing Association at the Queensland Road scheme in Islington, who recently scored a maximum 45 out of 45 Considerate Constructors Score, with ratings of 15 out of 15 (Excellent) for respecting the community, care for the environment and valuing the workforce.
1 and 3 Queensland Road consists of the removal of the existing cladding systems and set aside, removal of sheathing board and the installation of new fire membrane, rockwool insulation and cavity barriers on the compartmentation lines and penetrations. The cladding façade will then be re-instated. In addition, there will be the removal of balconies/timber decking and the installation of A2fl-s1 rated aluminium decking, and hard and soft landscaping works to the podium area.
CCS monitor Pat Edwards noted: "The site's housekeeping is impeccable, safe, and accommodates a pedestrian tunnel within the boundaries of the site in order to meet the expectations of the neighbours. In addition, the significant financial donation to the client's hardship fund is to be commended. The project also fully conforms with the requirements of ISO 50001 (Energy Management) certification. The project has also donated the communal planters to the nearby school, as opposed to disposal. Furthermore, the site team has pro-actively embraced the relevant free e-learning modules of the Supply Chain Sustainability School to further enhance their environmental awareness. The project utilises the Oculo mounted 360 camera system to record progress, quality, to share safety alerts, lessons learnt and best practices. The project also engages the Biometric Access Control Site Management system in order to risk assess and put in place controls for workforce safety".
Charlie Giddens, Assistant Director with Newlon said: "Well done to all involved and it’s great to see a top score, it will be excellent if we can keep it at this level throughout the whole of the project. Well done again and keep up the good work."
Bruce Benson, Mulalley Managing Director Construction Division said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have achieved a perfect Considerate Constructors score at Queensland Road. This continues to demonstrate our commitment in carrying out work whilst being respectful and understanding in the communities around us."
