Mulalley’s Woodward Road team recently hosted site visits for Elutec students. Elutec is an academy of design and engineering for young people aged 14-19 in East London and Essex who are interested in Engineering, Design, Science, Maths and Technology.
Twelve of their students visited our Woodward Road site over two days (6 students each day) to see and hear all about the redevelopment comprising of 56 new homes. After a site induction which included a health and safety talk, students were given a tour of the busy site. This was followed by students creating a programme to plan construction activities using Asta Powerproject. They were then given a more detailed project to take back to Elutec with them.
Claire Bannister at Elutec said: “Thank you so much for yesterday. The students enjoyed the experience and seeing what happens in 'real life' is so important. Many thanks again for taking the time to put on this experience for our students. I will discuss the project with them all when they are back in Elutec and they can then get started with the planning. It is an excellent project for them.”
Gary Robins, Associate Director at Mulalley said: “We thoroughly enjoyed hosting the site visits over two days to such keen students; it is always a pleasure to show students the full scope of how we plan, programme and build, and to talk about other key elements such as health and safety on site.”
Mulalley is currently working in Barking and Dagenham delivering two new build developments at Oxlow Lane and Woodward Road for BeFirst.
