Mulalley Architectural Designers have projects selected for Dezeen School Show

Two Mulalley Architectural Designers recently had their Oxford Brookes University work shown at Dezeen's latest school show.

Billy Taylor and Matthew Burroughs, who are both studying at Oxford Brookes University on their new apprenticeship programme to earn a Masters Degree in Architecture, are currently enrolled on the final part of the course to receive their Part 3 qualification which will allow them to use the title ‘Architect’.

Dezeen, an esteemed architecture, interiors and design magazine, was offered a selection of projects by the University to publish, and Billy and Matthew's ideas were selected.

Billy’s project "Streets in the Sky" is described as: 'A typology of dense high-rise living, enabling the densification of urban environments by utilising an offsite approach, expanding as demand requires across London, with homes, shops, amenities and a drone delivery network plugged into the system'.

Matthew’s project "Adapt or Die" 'explores a potential solution to the housing crisis for young people by theorising a technology giant as a housing developer. It looks to evoke the spirit of London's brutalist past and by using interchangeable construction kits, it is designed to react and adapt to changes in regulations and taste'.

Billy and Matthew said: "We have both thoroughly enjoyed studying and working as part of this new type of qualification route to become Architects, and we are delighted to see our work published on Dezeen. We would like to thank Mulalley for supporting us through the process and specifically Lisa Jennings, Richard Prince and David Parsons for their unwavering support over the past 3 years."

Richard Prince, Mulalley Director of Architecture said: "Through a combination of talent and hard work, Matthew and Billy have consistently produced design work of the highest quality throughout their Masters degree course. It’s great to see this recognised by Dezeen Architecture magazine who have published their work."

Lisa Jennings, Mulalley Senior Employment and Training Manager said: "It is fantastic to see Matthew’s and Billy’s projects featured in Dezeen and is a great accolade to them both. We have been very happy to support both Matthew and Billy on their journey to becoming Architects on the new apprenticeship route with Oxford Brookes University. This is part of our continuing commitment to training and developing our staff at Mulalley."
