Oxlow Lane Rebuilding Programme

Be First, on behalf of Barking and Dagenham Council, has appointed Mulalley to their rebuilding programme to replace the existing flats at 263-285 Rainham Road North and 291-301 Oxlow Lane, with 63 new high-quality affordable homes.

Before the rebuilding goes ahead, residents will move to alternative housing and everyone who wants to return will have the opportunity to get involved in the design of the new homes.

The development will aim to be carbon neutral with roof solar panels and 117 cycle parking spaces. An improved green space the size of three tennis courts will also be provided, along with an enhanced public landscaped area.

John Moore, Mulalley New Build Division Managing Director, said: “The sustainable design of the building highlights how we can help our clients achieve their sustainability aims. Our appointment follows the ongoing success of Leys Phase 1 and 2 Regeneration project and the commencement of the Woodward Road redevelopment. Both projects will greatly benefit London Borough of Barking and Dagenham by providing much needed affordable new high quality energy efficient homes, together with training and employment opportunities for the local community. We look forward to working with Be First, the Council, and the residents.”
