Watts Grove development opened by Mayor of London

Mulalley has completed the Watts Grove development for the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. This £24 million design and build project provides 148 new homes which will enable residents from the council’s waiting list to be accommodated in 4 brand new blocks of flats, 13 terrace houses and 13 disabled adapted properties enabling families to stay together in the borough.

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, and Tower Hamlets Mayor John Briggs attended the official scheme opening and met some of the delighted residents who have just moved into their new homes. They also met Jamil Rahman, who spent the majority of his carpentry apprenticeship at the Watts Grove development and, following the completion of his apprenticeship, has now secured employment at another Mulalley site - the Leys in Dagenham.

Mayor of Tower Hamlets John Biggs said: “The opening of Watts Grove is a really important and proud day for our borough. We’ve created 148 new affordable homes that cater for the distinct needs of our residents and keep families together in Tower Hamlets.”

John Moore, Operations Director at Mulalley, said: “We are delighted to have worked on this exciting project which has created high quality new homes to help ease the pressure on housing for the local community.”
