Croydon labourer celebrated

Mulalley Labourer Aaron Abbott has been announced as the 100th person to successfully secure employment through Croydon Works, the jobs brokerage service set up to get prospective employees into work.

Croydon Works was launched last July to ensure Croydon residents benefit from the employment opportunities created through the borough’s regeneration, particularly those with barriers to employment.

Aaron said: “I relished the prospect of working locally for Mulalley, particularly as I am working on the old Ashburton Library refurbishment project which I used to visit when I was younger. I found the process of obtaining employment very enjoyable and everyone was helpful. I am enjoying settling into my position and the tasks I am given each day.”

Bruce Benson, Operations Director at Mulalley, added: “We use Croydon Works to help us recruit local people due to their excellent links to the local community and their proactive approach. Aaron is a welcome addition to our workforce in Croydon and has quickly become a valued member of the team.”

Mulalley is currently working in partnership with Croydon Council to deliver their General Building Works contract to transform their housing stock over the coming years.
