Mulalley receives special commendation for successful NSA in Hackney

Mulalley played a significant role in the National Skills Academy for Construction (NSAfC) in Hackney since its inception four years ago as part of Hackney Homes Decent Homes Project. Funded by the CITB, the Academy exceeded all its original targets, creating 136 apprenticeships and 135 work experience placements. Additionally, it surpassed targets for community engagement, upskilling and training and promoting the construction sector to schools.

Leise Brown, NSAfC Performance Coordinator CITB said: “The collaborative and committed approach has resulted in making this one of the strongest NSAfC in the country.”

Cllr Philip Glanville, Cabinet Member for Housing said: “This programme has been an important opportunity for young people living in the borough, offering practical work experience and the chance to be mentored by construction professionals.”

Mulalley Operations Director Bruce Benson said: “The collaborative and committed approach of all parties involved in the Academy meant we were able to smash the original targets and leave a lasting legacy of skilled, employable workers in Hackney.”

Mulalley was the lead contractor on the Hackney Homes Decent Homes, capital works, planned works and maintenance contract, which formed part of a four-year framework, and have been working in partnership with Hackney Homes for over 10 years.
